Wormwood protects against bewitchment. Serve this dish

it is no wonder!).

The magickal ingredient is the poppy seed. At one time
poppy seed heads were gilded and worn as talismans to
bring wealth. The poppy seed was valued by witches and
magicians for its psychotropic qualities and therefore
its use in magickal rituals. It was also believed to
give one access to the Underworld which is why this
pastry is most widely made for The Yule – it allows
ancestors to come and go as they please in joining you
for your holiday celebration. The poppy seed is a powerful
aphrodisiac so serve this pastry to the object of your
affections.

- Nut Roll
(recipe over 100 years old)
The magickal ingredient is walnuts. Witches were said
to dance beneath walnut trees in Italy during their secret
rights. If someone gives you a bag of walnuts, all your
wishes will be fulfilled. Make this pastry to make all
your wishes come true. This is most widely made at the
Yule for New Year’s, the time of making resolutions
and setting goals.

- Beef Stroganoff
(recipe over 50 years old)

The magickal ingredient is tomato paste. The tomato
is called the ‘love apple’ and nurtures
the dangerous or ‘wild side’ of love so
make it for someone you have passion for. Because the
tomato is a nightshade, you can use it for poisonous
plots. Make this dish for an enemy and watch your power
against him or her increase.
